Cheesy Christmas Tree Recipe

Cheesy Christmas Tree Recipe
It was the most popular dish on the Christmas party table. Beforehand, I placed strips of paper towels along side the tree to mop up the excess oil from the pesto. I removed the towels before leaving the house. It made for a neater presentation. I used a cheese stick I had on hand and rolled it in chopped fresh chives. It gave the trunk a realistic look of needles. I had to lightly press them in so they would adhere, but the look was worth the extra step.

Ingredients of Cheesy Christmas Tree Recipe
1 pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese
1/2 cup pesto
1/4 cup chopped red peppers
1 stick KRAFT POLLY-O TWIST-UMS String Cheese
RITZ Crackers

Preparation of Cheesy Christmas Tree Recipe
1.CUT block of cream cheese diagonally in half. Arrange both halves, with points together, on serving plate to resemble Christmas-tree shape.
2.CUT a 2-inch piece from the string cheese. Place at bottom of tree for the trunk. Wrap up remaining cheese; refrigerate until ready to use for snacking or other use.
3.SPOON pesto over cream cheese; sprinkle with peppers. Serve as a spread with the crackers.
